I had THE best day today. Today tops all days so far in Cambodia. We didn’t have to go to school today due to the rain and the Typhoon. Waking up at 6:30 we decided to stay in through the rain and complete some of our assessment that is due for uni… After this, it was a mad rush to the hardware shop to buy a plunger as Ericka had blocked the toilet…for the third time! Hahaha After this major ordeal we decided that it would be best to have a plunger to ensure we have peace of mind. $2 later and we can poo in peace…
After this, the rain stopped and we decided to get out of the hotel and make our way to the Cambodian version of Cactus Jacks. We were feeling a little nostalgic so we ordered similar things that we would in Australia however it only cost us $3 instead of $20. We also decided to have a drink, working our way through the cocktail list… $2 cocktails… needless to say we had more than one. By about 12:30 we were THE drunkest people in the restaurant and were having a blast. From here we moved to the ‘old markets’… very intoxicated, and tried our hand at drunk bargaining… cant quite remember but I think we did alright. After an hour spent in the markets, a toilet break was necessary so we went back to the Mexican place, used their facilities and had another drink… it was polite :P
Still maintaining our drunkness we thought we should try our luck at the ‘new markets’… not as much luck here, they were hard to bargain with… so we moved the the Night Markets, our favourite, where we first had a 30 minute whole body massage for $2… Oh my goodness, the greatest thing EVER… then shopped till we mad it to the middle where there is an Island Bar. A quick stop at the bar for some snacks and more drinks and off we were again for some more shopping. We didn’t get far before we saw ‘ear candling’… another stop… then more shopping. We had a blast, Ericka unknowingly bought 11 pairs of pants, we found some awesome things and I can see we will be back again…
We are home now… after a full day of drinking and pampering ourselves… we are buggered, ready for bed and still probably a little drunk hahaha… What an amazing day, hopefully there is another Typhoon for another productive day of drinking and shopping…?
Tomorrow is another day of teaching and painting though…
